Vanessa Diez is a first-generation Masters Student working towards her MPA- Policy & Administration with a concentration in Emergency Management. She has worked in social service for a decade serving low income families and refugees. On most weekends you can find her working with the American Red Cross as a Disaster Responder throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Vanessa’s interests include reading, running, traveling and of course, eating delicious foods!

While working with IGEPS, Vanessa published an op-ed in the Latino Rebels, Understanding Sponsorship Challenges for Unaccompanied Migrant Children, a fact sheet for the Scholars Strategy Network Disparities in Immigration Policy for Unaccompanied Children and Minor Refugees and an article in the  Journal of Social Equity and Public Administration, Gender Equity in Public Affairs Pedagogy: Structure, Content, and Practice for a More Inclusive Public Sector..
