
Kit Lee-Demery, CEM

Kit Lee-Demery, CEM is a certified emergency management professional with extensive experience across the public, private, and higher education sectors. She currently serves as the Senior Manager of Physical Security at Proskauer Rose LLP, where she is responsible for crisis management and security functions for the Firm’s 13 U.S. and international offices.
Prior to joining Proskauer, Kit served as Assistant Director for Emergency Management and Fire Safety at Pace University, where she developed and implemented the university’s comprehensive emergency management and fire life safety programs, serving over 23,000 students, faculty, and staff. She also spent 12 years as an Adjunct Lecturer at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, teaching courses in Public Administration.
Earlier in her career, Kit worked with the NYC Emergency Management (NYCEM) Department’s External Affairs Unit, coordinating Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) preparedness and response initiatives. She later joined the Special Operations Division at the NYC Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME), where she contributed to the development of a regional mass fatality management plan, trained hospitals in mass fatality response, and supported continuity of operations planning.
Kit is a certified adult and pediatric first aid, CPR, and AED instructor, as well as a Stop the Bleed instructor. She currently serves as Co-Chair of NYCEM’s Public-Private Partnership Business Continuity Legal Forum. Kit is the President of the FBI New York Citizens Academy Alumni Association (FBINYCAAA), working to bridge the gap between civilians and law enforcement, and is also an active member of FBI InfraGard and NYPD Shield, partnering with both agencies to strengthen the protection of critical infrastructure and public safety. In addition, Kit is a mentor with American Corporate Partners (ACP), where she supports and advises military veterans transitioning into corporate careers.
Kit holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Pace University and a Master’s in Public Administration with a specialization in Emergency Management from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She is also a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy.
